About the role

We are seeking a Cafe Allrounder Barista to join our team on a casual, full-time basis at Pear Tree Cafe Pizzeria in Hamilton Hill, WA 6163. This is a dynamic role that combines barista expertise with broader cafe operations, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will be at the heart of our cafe, preparing quality beverages, engaging with customers, and supporting all aspects of front-of-house service. This position offers the flexibility of casual employment whilst providing consistent full time hours.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees and other hot and cold drinks according to cafe standards

- Operating and maintaining coffee machines and other beverage equipment to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness

- Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, both from the counter and via phone or online channels

- Processing payments and managing the till system with accuracy and attention to detail

- Providing friendly, attentive customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests

- Assisting with food preparation, plating and presentation where required

- Supporting general cafe operations including restocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the workspace

- Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth service during peak and off-peak periods

- Following food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain the highest standards





- Contributing to the cafe's success by suggesting improvements and maintaining a positive team environment

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a barista or in a similar cafe/hospitality role, with demonstrated expertise in coffee preparation

- Strong knowledge of espresso-based drinks, coffee varieties and beverage preparation techniques

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality standards

- Proficiency in operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash transactions accurately

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene standards

- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work casual hours and adapt to changing business needs

- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues

- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to manage orders and communicate effectively

- Preferred experience in a pizzeria or multi-faceted hospitality environment

- Current Food Handling Certificate or equivalent would be advantageous
