About the role

This is solution architecture for someone who wants to shape new ways of doing things.

At Liquid, we’re looking for a senior Solution Architect to help take ambitious AI and digital solutions from opportunity through to production.

You’ll work at the intersection of strategy, architecture and delivery – helping clients and multidisciplinary teams make sense of complex opportunities, explore what’s technically possible, and design solutions that can be deployed securely and successfully at enterprise scale.

Liquid is a Strategic Design and Digital Transformation consultancy based in Brisbane, working on national projects across government, health, education and beyond. We bring together strategy, design, technology and delivery to solve complex problems and create meaningful outcomes for people.

As our AI capability grows, we need strong enterprise architecture, cloud, security and assurance expertise to help turn compelling ideas and prototypes into solutions that are genuinely ready for production.

Why this role is different

This isn’t an architecture role where you’re handed defined requirements and asked to design the technology. You’ll get involved earlier.

Working alongside our Partners, designers, delivery teams and clients, you’ll help shape solutions that balance user needs, commercial realities, risk and technology.

A major focus will be AI and automation, particularly in complex or sensitive environments such as government, health and human services.

You’ll make sure solutions are born deployable – considering cloud infrastructure, identity and access, integrations, security, data, monitoring, assurance, cost and scale from the beginning.

You’ll also help strengthen Liquid’s broader AI and enterprise technology capability by turning what we learn into reusable architecture patterns, approaches and intellectual property.

What you’ll be doing

- Shape complex AI and enterprise technology opportunities alongside Partners and multidisciplinary teams.

- Bring an architecture lens into discovery, problem definition and early solution design.

- Design production-ready architectures across applications, cloud, data, integration, identity and security.





- Develop clear concepts of operations describing how solutions will work in practice.

- Determine where AI adds value, where deterministic approaches are better and where humans need to remain in the loop.

- Shape prototypes and technical spikes to validate assumptions before major delivery commitments.

- Design enterprise AI and conversational AI solutions with appropriate controls, information boundaries and assurance.

- Ensure pilots and proofs of concept have a credible pathway into production and scale.

- Embed security, privacy, auditability, risk and assurance into architecture from the outset.

- Work across Azure and AWS environments, including identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID and AWS IAM.

- Provide architectural leadership as solutions move from shaping into delivery and production.

- Support proposals, pursuits, estimates and senior client conversations.

- Develop reusable architecture, platform, assurance and deployment patterns.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced Solution Architect who combines technical depth with strong consulting instincts.

You’ll bring:

- Strong, current solution architecture experience across complex enterprise environments.

- Hands-on cloud architecture experience across Azure and/or AWS.

- Experience taking systems from prototype or pilot through to production and scale.

- Strong knowledge of identity, integration, security, deployment and non-functional architecture.

- Experience applying secure-by-design, risk management and information assurance principles.

- Experience working in government, regulated or similarly high-assurance environments.

- Knowledge of AI, automation, conversational AI or LLM-based solutions and the considerations involved in deploying them responsibly.

- An understanding of responsible AI, including safety,



accountability, explainability and human oversight.

- Confidence working with clients and commercial leaders before requirements are fully defined.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to move comfortably between executive conversations and detailed technical discussions.

- Commercial judgement and the ability to balance value, feasibility, risk and delivery realities.

This role is unlikely to suit someone whose experience has primarily been architecture governance or documentation removed from hands-on solution shaping.

Nice to have

- Experience establishing a Centre of Excellence, reusable technology platform or enterprise operating model.

- TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect or relevant security qualifications.

- Experience designing across both Azure and AWS.

- Experience with low-code or automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform or UiPath.

- Consulting, advisory or SME experience requiring breadth, autonomy and self-direction.
