JY Accountants is a respected business services and corporate advisory firm based in Southport, QLD. We provide comprehensive accounting, taxation and advisory services to businesses throughout Queensland.

Due to the continued growth of our firm, we are seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant with at least 3 years' Australian public practice experience to join our Business Services team.

This is a client-facing role offering the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients, develop your technical and advisory skills and progress your career within a growing accounting firm.

What you'll be doing

- Manage your own portfolio of clients and act as a day-to-day point of contact.

- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.

- Prepare BAS, IAS and other taxation and compliance work.

- Assist clients with general taxation, accounting and business matters.

- Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and ensure work is completed on time.

- Identify accounting and taxation issues and discuss more complex matters with senior team members.

- Maintain accurate workpapers and ensure work complies with relevant taxation, accounting and firm requirements.

What we're looking for

- Minimum 3 years' Australian public practice accounting experience is essential.

- Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.





- Robust experience in Australian business services and taxation.

- Sound knowledge of Australian taxation, including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.

- Strong proficiency in Xero and other accounting software.

- Ability to manage your own workload and client portfolio with appropriate senior support.

- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients.

- Professional attitude with a strong commitment to client service, confidentiality and integrity.

- CPA/CA qualification, or progress towards qualification, is highly regarded.
