The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join our Civil Asset Management team and play a key role in maintaining infrastructure within Australia’s largest private irrigation water supply network.
- Full time, rostered position based onsite in Finley, NSW
- Attractive roster cycle of 5 days on / 2 days off / 7 days on / 7 days off. With additional roster loading
- Five weeks of annual leave per year
Murray Irrigation is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Plant Operator to join our team in Finley.

About the role
As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant, machinery, and equipment such as trucks, excavators, loaders, and graders. Other responsibilities of the role include weed control, infrastructure repairs, conducting daily pre-starts and job-starts and reporting on infrastructure condition and effectiveness. You will possess strong communication skills, essential for maintaining positive, professional relationships with landholders and team members.
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
- Minimum of three years’ experience operating heavy plant and trucks
- Experience operating plant items (e.g. excavator, grader, loader, spray units)
- Current manual drivers licence
- WHS General Induction for Construction Work (NSW)
- Basic computer skills and experience using electronic devices to support operational and administrative tasks.
- Strong focus on safety and excellent safety record.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised
- Physically fit
Knowledge of Murray Irrigation’s operating environment, relevant certifications such as First Aid, Manual Handling, Confined Space, and Farm Chemical User and a current HC Licence will be an advantage.
