Workshop Manager – Automotive Service
Springwood, Brisbane QLD | Full-time
Keema Automotive Group is seeking an experienced, hands-on Workshop Manager to lead the workshop operation at our busy Springwood dealership.
This is a key leadership position for someone who understands that a high-performing workshop is built on disciplined workflow, good technical standards, strong people leadership and accurate documentation. You will be the operational leader of the workshop, working closely with the Service Manager to drive productivity, quality, training and profitable labour performance.
You will lead the workshop team, including technicians, apprentices, the Workshop Foreman and Workshop Controller, ensuring jobs are allocated, completed and documented to the standard expected of a major multi-franchise dealership.
The role
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading technicians and apprentices to achieve agreed productivity, efficiency, utilisation and quality KPIs.
- Supervising and developing the Workshop Foreman and Workshop Controller.
- Managing daily workshop workflow, job allocation, carryovers and ageing work in progress.
- Ensuring repair orders are technically complete, accurately documented and quality checked before being released back to Service Advisors.
- Reviewing technician stories, labour clocking's, diagnostic findings, inspection reports and causal-part requirements.
- Ensuring warranty PWAs, manufacturer technical cases and Techline submissions are accurate, submitted promptly and actively followed through.
- Monitoring and reducing comebacks, internal rework and avoidable delays.
- Managing apprentice development, training plans, TAFE requirements, competency sign-offs and manufacturer training bookings.
- Conducting regular toolbox meetings, performance discussions and coaching with workshop staff.
- Maintaining a protected, organised and professional workshop environment.
- Working with the Service Manager and advisor team to ensure clear communication, realistic completion times and a better customer outcome.
About you
You will be an experienced automotive workshop leader—ideally a current Workshop Manager, Workshop Foreman or high-performing senior technician ready to step into a broader management role.
You will bring:
- Strong technical automotive knowledge and dealership workshop experience.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and hold technicians accountable.
- A sound understanding of warranty processes, manufacturer PWA requirements and technical case submissions.
- Strong knowledge of repair-order quality, technician documentation and labour clocking discipline.
- Confidence managing workflow, competing priorities and a busy workshop team.
- A practical, calm and direct leadership style.
- High standards around safety, workshop presentation and customer outcomes.
- A current manual driver’s licence.
This is not simply a foreman role. It is a genuine workshop leadership position with responsibility for people, performance, technical administration and the standard of work leaving the workshop.
