Situated within a well-established family-owned cotton, grain and cattle enterprise in Northwest NSW, this position is involved as part of a larger aggregation of properties centred around the wider Moree district. The business continues to invest heavily in farm infrastructure, irrigation systems and property improvements, creating a varied and rewarding role for an experienced machinery operator.
Reporting directly to the farm supervisor and farm management, this role would suit an experienced machinery operator who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality workmanship and can work autonomously while contributing positively to a wider team environment. An immediate start is available for the right applicant.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Operate a range of earthmoving and agricultural machinery to undertake channel maintenance,
head ditch repairs and irrigation infrastructure works across cotton production areas to ensure efficient water delivery and drainage outcomes.
- Complete pipeline installation, maintenance and upgrade projects involving pipework ranging from approximately 12 metres through to 36-metre systems, while ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Utilise laser bucket technology and land forming techniques to undertake paddock re-levelling and drainage improvement works across dryland and irrigated farming country.
- Carry out property development activities including tree clearing, fence line establishment, road construction, road maintenance and preparation of foundations for future infrastructure projects.
- Assist with general earthmoving, maintenance and operational tasks as required across the farming aggregation, contributing to seasonal priorities and ongoing property improvement programs.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience operating earthmoving machinery within agricultural, civil, earthworks or similar environments, with the ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience operating articulated tractors, loaders,
dozers or similar machinery would be highly regarded, particularly where precision earthworks or land forming activities have been undertaken.
- A truck licence, or practical experience operating trucks and transporting equipment, would be advantageous and beneficial within the day-to-day requirements of the role.
- Sound mechanical aptitude, together with welding, fabrication or machinery maintenance skills, would be highly valued and enable greater contribution across a broad range of farm projects.
- A professional, can-do attitude combined with strong communication skills, initiative and a willingness to take ownership of tasks is essential for success within this team-oriented environment.

- Full-time permanent position based on farm near Moree, NSW, with work conducted across multiple properties within the aggregation.
- Accommodation is provided on farm, with options potentially including a single donga, shared accommodation or a standalone house depending on applicant suitability and availability.
- All meals are supplied through an on-site cook, providing a convenient and supportive living arrangement.
- Remuneration will be negotiated according to skills, experience and overall suitability, with an hourly rate structure in place.
