Role Overview
As an NMI Licensed Service Technician (6.1–6.4) based in Sydney, you will deliver calibration, verification, maintenance, and servicing across a diverse range of weighing and measurement systems.
You will work directly with customers onsite, diagnose and repair equipment, and ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements. This is a hands-on, travel-focused role within a supportive professional team, offering strong overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration, verification, and maintenance of weighing instruments and systems in accordance with NMI Licence 6.1–6.4 standards.
- Conduct onsite service visits across NSW, including scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown support.
- Apply NMI-approved procedures to verify compliance and prepare accurate service and compliance reports.
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and maintain high levels of system accuracy and reliability.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service at all client sites.
- Maintain accurate job records, documentation, and internal system updates.
- Ensure secure and compliant use of tools, equipment,
and company vehicles.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMI Licence 6.1–6.4 (verification, maintenance, and calibration competencies) required.
- Experience as a field or service technician within weighing, metrology, industrial instrumentation, or a related technical environment.
- Relevant technical experience in industrial automation, electronic calibration, laboratory equipment, process control, or precision machinery will also be considered.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a field or service technician is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent the business professionally.
- Ability to work independently, manage travel schedules, and prioritise workload effectively.
- Valid Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly.
