About the role
Join a Perth-based ASX-listed medical technology company in a broad Financial Accountant role, responsible for supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Proteomics International through accurate financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and transactional finance activities. The role ensures timely processing of financial information, assists with month, quarter and year-end reporting requirements, and supports the broader finance team with financial analysis and continuous process improvement initiatives.
You will work directly with the Financial Controller and support the CFO and Senior Management, having a proactive, cooperative approach, with the ability to take ownership of deadlines and identify process improvements where required.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of statutory financial reports, Board reporting, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, journals, fixed asset registers, intercompany accounts, company credit cards, expense claims, and supporting documentation
- Assist with modelling and due diligence on commercial projects
- Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and consolidated financial reporting
- Process payroll, supplier payment runs, and support treasury management activities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including supplier and customer onboarding
- Prepare BAS, FBT, payroll tax, ESS tax, and other taxation compliance obligations
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, financial procedures, and internal controls
- Support external audits through timely preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and audit information requests
- Contribute to finance system maintenance, process improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement of finance operations
About you
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and transactional finance activities
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation requirements, and financial controls
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury activities
- Strong analytical, organisational, and attention-to-detail capability
- Strong written, verbal, and financial reporting communication skills
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero or a comparable accounting system. Experience with financial reporting, accounts payable automation or business intelligence systems will be highly regarded.
- CA or CPA qualification completed or in progress desirable
