Randstad is proud to partner with the leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government. As one of the preferred recruitment partners, we are currently looking for an AO7 Project Lead, Environmental Management Uplift - SEQ to start on a 12 month contract with view to extend a furtehr 18 months.

About the Role

As the Project Lead for Environmental Management Uplift, you will drive the end-to-end design, implementation, and embedding of an upgraded Environmental Management System (EMS) across large-scale operational environments. Embedded within the Senior Water & Environment Advisory team, you will bridge the gap between high-level environmental compliance and practical, ground-level construction and asset management operations.

You will own the project lifecycle, from planning, governance, and vendor management through to risk assurance and executive reporting, ensuring our environmental governance frameworks translate into seamless operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead the planning, design, execution, and closure of the EMS uplift initiative within a broader organisational transformation program.

- System & Governance Alignment: Establish robust environmental governance frameworks aligned with ISO 14001 and public sector compliance standards.

- Operational Integration: Work alongside water and environmental specialists, site managers, and construction personnel to embed practical EMS processes into enterprise asset platforms and daily operations.

- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Engage across technical, operational, and executive tiers; lead multidisciplinary teams; and manage external suppliers/contractors to hit key milestones.

- Change Management & Assurance: Drive structured organizational change, manage project risks and dependencies, control budgets, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

What We Are Looking For

- Proven track record leading complex,



large-scale business transformation or enterprise system implementation projects from initiation to completion.
- Expertise in project management frameworks, including detailed planning, financial management, risk mitigation, and executive-level status reporting.

- Demonstrated capability coordinating multidisciplinary teams in complex operational environments with competing priorities.

Required Experience & Technical Skills:

- Demonstrated experience delivering environmental, regulatory, compliance, or enterprise management system projects within large organizations.

- Strong background in construction, infrastructure, facilities management, or property-related sectors.

- Exceptional communication and workshop facilitation skills, with experience writing business cases, project charters, and operational implementation plans.

- Demonstrated success in driving change management and vendor management to achieve sustainable business outcomes.

Highly Desirable:

- Hands-on experience uplifting or establishing ISO 14001 aligned Environmental Management Systems.

- Familiarity with enterprise asset management platforms and public sector operating environments.

- Strong foundation in risk management and sustainability program delivery within high-risk operational environments.

Mandatory Requirements:

- Current Open Class C Driver's Licence (QLD) or equivalent.
- Requirement to undergo a criminal history check prior to appointment.
- Hold current Australian working rights. (Evidence will be required as part of the application process.)

It is expected that the successful candidate will possess solid oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
