About the role

Diesel Repair Centre Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Bibra Lake, WA. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy diesel vehicles and equipment. As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles meet safety and performance standards. Your expertise will be fundamental to keeping our clients' operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical faults and problems in heavy diesel engines and vehicle systems using diagnostic tools and equipment

- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, belt inspections and fluid top-ups

- Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and fuel injection systems

- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues before they become major problems

- Test repaired vehicles to ensure they operate correctly and safely

- Document work completed, including parts used and labour hours, for accurate record-keeping and billing

- Communicate with customers regarding repair requirements, timescales and costs

- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations

- Keep up to date with the latest developments in diesel engine technology and repair techniques

What we're looking for

- Recognised qualification or apprenticeship in diesel mechanics or a related automotive trade with a minimum 2 years fully qualified

- Valid driver's licence with HR license required





- Occasional breakdown and onsite work will be required

- In-depth knowledge of heavy diesel engines, transmission systems, hydraulics and electrical systems

- Preferred experience with HINO, ISUZU, MAN, SCANIA, VOLVO and KENWORTH

- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computerised testing tools

- Solid mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations within the automotive industry

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

- Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding conditions, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy components
