About the role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will support participants with their individual needs and goals, following participant support plans and safety requirements while promoting participant dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Personal care and daily living support
- Community access and social participation
- Meal preparation and household tasks
- Development of daily living and life skills
- Appointments, shopping and community activities
- Emotional support and companionship
- Following participant support plans and safety requirements
- Completing progress notes and required documentation
About you
- Compassionate and respectful
- Reliable and punctual
- Patient and understanding
- Strong communicators
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Committed to person-centred support
- Willing to learn and complete required training
- NSW Driver's Licence (Required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Required)
- Working With Children Check (Required)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Required)
- NDIS Supporting Effective Communication (Required)
- NDIS Supporting safe and enjoyable meals (Required)
- First Aid & CPR (Required)
- Infection Control Certificate (Required)
- NSW Police Check, where required
- Evidence of Australian work rights
- Able to work 2-3 days, excluding weekends
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in disability support, community services, individual support, aged care or a related field
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification is highly regarded
