Apprenticeships Available

Panel Beating Apprenticeship
Complete your AUR32120 Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology while developing practical skills repairing and restoring damaged vehicles.

Spray Painting Apprenticeship
Complete your AUR32420 Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology while developing professional vehicle preparation, colour matching and refinishing skills.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will vary depending on your chosen trade, apprenticeship stage and existing experience.

Panel Beating

Working alongside qualified panel beaters, you'll develop skills in:

- Assessing vehicle body damage and repair requirements.

- Removing, repairing and replacing damaged vehicle panels.

- Straightening and realigning vehicle body components.

- Using specialist panel beating tools and equipment.

- Assisting with minor and major collision repairs.

- Preparing repaired panels for refinishing.

- Following manufacturer specifications and workplace safety procedures.

Spray Painting

Working alongside qualified automotive refinishing technicians, you'll develop skills in:

- Preparing vehicle surfaces for refinishing.

- Sanding, masking and priming vehicle panels.

- Mixing and matching automotive paint colours.

- Applying base coats, clear coats and refinishing products.





- Using professional spray-painting equipment and spray booths.

- Inspecting finished surfaces and completing final detailing.

- Following safe procedures when handling paints and chemicals.

About You

We're looking for motivated individuals who are ready to start or continue building a long-term career in the automotive industry.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

- A genuine interest in panel beating, spray painting or automotive collision repair.

- For existing apprentices, current or previous experience in a Panel Beating or Spray Painting apprenticeship.

- A hands-on approach and willingness to learn.

- A strong work ethic and reliable attitude.

- Good attention to detail and pride in your work.

- The ability to take direction and apply feedback.

- The ability to work well as part of a workshop team.

- A current driver's licence (P1 or above preferred).

- Reliable transport and the ability to travel to available host employers.

No previous automotive experience is required for 1st Year applicants. For 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year applicants, previous apprenticeship experience will be considered when determining your apprenticeship stage.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents to be eligible for these apprenticeships.
