About the role
You'll work alongside Yolŋu leaders, the Board, managers, staff and trusted partners to connect governance, grants, risk, records and digital workflows — building systems rigorous enough to inspire confidence and easy enough to work in practice. This role supports sound workforce administration but isn't the organisation's HR specialist; complex employment and industrial matters go to qualified external advisers.
Key responsibilities
Governance — Board and committee cycles, papers, decisions, registers and statutory reporting
Organisational systems — policies, procedures and workflows people can use
Grants and contracts — obligations, milestones, reporting and acquittal readiness
Risk and improvement — registers and follow-through for risks, incidents and audits
Digital and records — Microsoft 365, SharePoint and document creation and management
About you
Substantial experience across governance, organisational systems, grants, risk, or senior administration
Ability to move between a Yolŋu Board or team conversation and workflow detail with ease
Write with clarity and hold confidential, competing priorities with sound judgement
Cultural humility and capacity to work respectfully within Yolŋu authority and decision-making
Experience in a First Nations, remote or community-controlled setting is highly regarded
Curious systems thinker who enjoys making complexity understandable
Right to work in Australia
Satisfactory National Police Check and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children Clearance), or applications completed before commencement, if required for the final duties
Compliance with Djäkamirr Aboriginal Corporation policies, confidentiality and lawful directions
About us
Djäkamirr Co-op is a Yolŋu-led, matriarch-led organisation strengthening Yolŋu women, families, knowledge, culture and reproductive justice. We're moving from a powerful community vision into a sustainable, contemporary organisation.
