Asprey Lawyers has an exciting opportunity for a permanent lawyer, with 2 to 3 years PQE, to join our team in West Footscray.

The Opportunity

The role will offer exposure to the above areas of law and the chance to work with a tight-knit team that provides excellent mentoring and support with the goal of empowering lawyers to take carriage of matters, under supervision, across a wide range of legal fields.

A successful candidate will have the following:
Completed degree in law and admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria;
Have approximately 2 to 3 years of PQE;
Experience in litigation, commercial law, property, wills and estates and/or conveyancing;
Ability to take carriage of files and work autonomously - under supervision of Partners;
The ability to develop and mentor graduate lawyers;
Fluency in Vietnamese is highly desirable;




A high level of self-initiative and strong attention to detail;
Confident and professional communication skills;
A positive, friendly, pro-active and can-do attitude to get the job done

Your responsibilities will include:
Carriage of multiple files under the supervision of Partners;
Interviewing clients, issuing proceedings, negotiating settlements, and preparing for hearings;
Briefing and instructing Counsel in various jurisdictions ;
Drafting commercial agreements, Letters of Demand and Court documents;
Appearing at direction hearings and mediations;
Care and conduct of conveyancing files; and
Researching relevant areas of policy, legislation, and case law.
