About the role

Join an established hospitality team and play a key role in Etti's kitchen. This hands-on position is responsible for preparing and cooking consistently high-quality pizzas and a range of other dishes, supporting productive kitchen service and helping develop a fresh, modern menu suited to a busy local bar.

Key responsibilities
Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings and ingredients for a range of menu dishes to approved recipes and production standards.
Prepare, cook and present pizzas and other menu items using woodfired and commercial kitchen equipment.
Monitor cooking temperatures, cooking times, food quality and presentation throughout service.
Maintain consistent portioning, flavour and presentation across all dishes while managing food costs and minimising waste.
Plan daily preparation levels and ensure ingredients and supplies meet service requirements.
Work closely with kitchen management and front-of-house staff to deliver efficient, timely service.
Contribute ideas for current pizzas, dishes, seasonal specials and improvements to existing recipes.
Support,



train and guide junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques and safe work practices.
Maintain a clean, organised workstation and comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Assist across all kitchen sections as required during busy periods.

About you
Relevant commercial cookery qualifications, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
At least two years' experience as a Pizza Chef, Chef or Cook in a busy commercial kitchen.
Strong knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation, pizza assembly and oven management.
A passion for hospitality and producing consistently high-quality food.
Sound understanding of food safety, allergen awareness and kitchen hygiene requirements.
Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure.
A hands-on, team-oriented approach with explicit communication skills.
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
