Independent Non-Executive Director | Founder-Led Private Group | South East Queensland

Directors Australia is assisting a substantial, privately held Australian group to appoint an independent non-executive director to a newly constituted governing board.

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

Senior commercial experience at executive or board level, with a track record of genuine high-growth performance and the acumen to identify, evaluate and capitalise on growth opportunities in recent markets
n
Proven capability in mergers, acquisitions and related transactions, including structuring investment appropriately as a group's operations evolve
n
Sound commercial judgement in brand positioning and customer engagement strategy, and the ability to guide management in building these in current or underdeveloped markets

The ability to critically assess financial and operational performance and constructively test management
n
Board-level experience and a sound working knowledge of governance frameworks, with the comfort to help establish them from the ground up rather than inherit a settled framework

The personal attributes to work effectively in a founder-led context -a genuine challenger mindset, earning the trust of a controlling shareholder while exercising independent judgement

Exposure to family-controlled or privately held enterprise is highly desirable.

n

Directors based in South East Queensland are strongly preferred.
