Little Wallabies Child Care Centre, Turramurra

We are seeking an experienced, reliable and passionate Cook to join our small family-owned childcare centre in Turramurra on Sydney's Upper North Shore. Caring for up to 40 children each day, we are committed to providing nutritious, healthy meals in a warm and supportive workplace.

Position Details
• Permanent part time position
• Monday to Friday, 9:00am–1:00pm (20 hours per week)
• Preparing meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years
• Following an established set menu and dietary guidelines

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks
• Cater for children with allergies, cultural requirements and special dietary needs
• Maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Manage kitchen supplies and food preparation efficiently
• Work collaboratively with centre staff

Essential Requirements




• Current NSW Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain before commencement)
• Australian permanent residency, Australian citizenship, or a valid working visa
• Ability to complete National Child Safety Training through Geccko (mandatory for all childcare staff) - this must be completed within 2 weeks of starting in the role.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain

Preferred Qualifications
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent
• Previous experience preparing meals in a childcare, school, aged care or similar setting
• Robust organisational and time management skills, ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills and a positive team-focused attitude
