An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Engineer - Secondary & Protection to join its growing Power & Electrification team. This is a senior technical leadership opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead complex transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and power infrastructure projects across Australia.
The Role
As a Principal Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across major projects, oversee engineering design delivery, mentor junior and senior engineers, and contribute to business growth through client engagement and project development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead secondary and protection design across complex power infrastructure projects.
Ensure quality assurance through review and approval of engineering deliverables.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
Support business development activities, proposals, and client engagement.
Develop and implement engineering standards and best practices.
Work closely with utilities, contractors,
developers, and project stakeholders.
About You
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years' experience in Secondary & Protection Engineering.
Strong background across transmission, distribution, substations, or renewable energy projects.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is highly regarded.
Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering complex engineering projects.
Solid stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
