Evaluate the financial background and creditworthiness of applicants seeking auto loans or lease financing
Review and analyse loan applications, including credit reports, income statements, and other financial documents
Assess applicants’ ability to repay loans based on credit history, income, employment stability, and debt-to-income ratio
Identify potential red flags or high-risk applicants and escalat(e?) as appropriate
Make recommendations on loan applications while adhering to policy, procedure, and guidelines
Collaborate with sales, operations, and underwriting teams to provide a excellent customer experience
Ensure assessments include appropriate research and reflect current policies and standards
Liaise with dealer managers, dealerships, POI & Settlements, and Risk stakeholders
Requirements
Prior credit underwriting experience is essential
Exposure to consumer and commercial lending is preferred
Auto finance industry experience is highly regarded
Robust understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and risk assessment tools
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modelling, and other analytical tools
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field preferred but not essential
