Kanahooka Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team.
The successful candidate will work closely with other pharmacy staff to provide skilled pharmacy services, dispense medications, counsel patients and support the protected and effective use of pharmaceutical products.

We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team.
As a Retail Pharmacist, you will be responsible for dispensing prescribed medicines, reviewing medication histories, providing advice to patients and prescribers, monitoring medication therapies and supporting the effective operation of the pharmacy.
You will play an important role in ensuring patient safety and delivering a high standard of pharmacy care.
Duties:
1. Accurately receiving prescriptions, reviewing patient medication histories, and ensuring the correct dosage, administration methods and drug compatibility before dispensing.
2. Overseeing or directly preparing and labelling liquid medicines, ointments, powders, tablets and other medications in accordance with prescriptions.
3. Providing guidance to prescribers regarding drug incompatibilities and contraindications.
4. Reviewing and monitoring individual patients' medication therapies to assess and enhance treatment plans' effectiveness.
5.



Maintaining detailed prescription files and documenting the distribution of narcotics, poisons and habit-forming substances.
6. Ensuring the proper storage and preservation of vaccines, serums and other drugs susceptible to deterioration.
7. Providing non-prescription medications and diagnostic and therapeutic aids to customers.
8. Managing and coordinating activities of Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy interns and Pharmacy Sales Assistants.
9. Engaging with other Chemists and other relevant experts to discuss pharmaceutical matters and support appropriate patient care.
10. Testing and analysing drugs where required to verify their identity, purity and strength against established standards.
11. Establishing and maintaining appropriate standards for drugs used in pharmaceutical applications.
Requirements:
1. A relevant tertiary qualification in Pharmacy.
2. Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a pharmacist in Australia.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
5. Ability to work as part of a team.
