Job Description
Are you interested in becoming an Electrician working in an underground mining environment?

Our Apprentices are an important part of our coal mining operations. We pride ourselves on developing you as a talented tradesperson both technically and professionally over the duration of your apprenticeship. Our program will not only prepare you to be a multi-skilled Electrician but also support you in nurturing those life skills that help you become a more well-rounded individual.

So, what does an Electrician at Cornwall Coal do? Over the duration of your apprenticeship, you will eventually be able to:
n
n
Work on a wide variety of fixed plant and production equipment
n
Gain exposure to both workshop and operational plant environments
n
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment
n
Carry out preventive maintenance to keep systems reliable and safe
n
Respond to breakdowns, applying strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
n
Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics to complete tasks effectively
n
Actively contribute to toolbox meetings and pre-start risk assessments
n
Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
n
Consistently follow safety standards, procedures, and best practices
n

What You'll Bring
n
n
You have completed or are currently completing a minimum Year 11 with passes in Maths and English
n
You ideally are completing or have completed Cert I or II Electrotechnology
n
You have good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
n
You have a genuine interest in your chosen trade
n
You bring a positive attitude, a love of learning and a willingness to tackle whatever comes your way
n

Full time work for the duration of your apprenticeship, paid under an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement

As a first-year apprentice, you would commence the program around late January ****
