Grade 3 Laboratory Assistant Role - Pathology Located in Bendigo

About the department
n
Austin Health Pathology is a agile and growing department within Austin Health, dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic services across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
n
We proudly support Austin Health, the Mercy Hospital for Women, and a wide network of GPs and specialists.
n
We are currently expanding into the Hume and Loddon Mallee regions, strengthening our presence and accessibility in regional communities through a network of laboratories, collection centers and point-of-care services.
n
About the role
n
A regular day will see you:
n
n
Register patient information and specimen details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) with high accuracy and efficiency.
n
Prepare samples for analysis by centrifuging, aliquoting, ensuring they meet requirements for manual or automated equipment as applicable.
n
Co-ordinate with other laboratory personnel to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing of samples.
n
Work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnight, as required to meet service demand.
n
Shift patterns and hours may vary depending on operational requirements.
n

About you
n
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

Strong attention to detail and sound organisational skills
n
Experience in handling, sorting, and preparing pathology specimens.
n
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of samples.
n
Ability to follow strict protocols and accreditation standards for specimen processing and patient confidentiality.
