The Purpose
As a Senior Financial Accountant at AP+, you will be responsible for the day-to-day finance functions to ensure the accurate recording and timely reporting of financial information for AP+ in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and Company policies. This role also supports Treasury, Tax and compliance obligations, with a core focus on year-end and audit requirements.
Expected Day-to-day Activities
Audit & Financial Statements
Provide supporting documentation and analysis for the year-end external audit.
Assist in the preparation and review of statutory financial statements.
Month End
Prepare, review and post month-end journals as required.
Support timely and accurate month-end close processes.
Reconciliations
Prepare and review high-quality balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and AP+ policies.
Technical Accounting
Apply accounting standards to operational matters.
Prepare technical accounting memos and provide advice on areas such as leasing and commercial agreements.
Tax
Support the management of AP+'s tax obligations as required.
Financial Compliance
Assist in ensuring AP+ meets its compliance obligations and compulsory government reporting requirements.
Experience & Background
An undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
CPA or CA qualification.
Minimum 5 years' directly relevant finance experience within a payment's organisation.
External audit experience.
Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and work collaboratively to deliver solutions.
A proactive mindset during change, encouraging flexibility and helping others see opportunities.
A collaborative approach, working effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
A commitment to delivering high-quality outputs on time.
