NES Fircroft has partnered with a well-established and growing electrical contractor and engineering business delivering projects across the infrastructure and industrial sectors, to recruit a Control Systems Engineer.
This role sits within the Water Infrastructure Business Unit in their South-West Brisbane office.About the RoleIt's an opportunity to join a team where there is plenty happening, with the chance to become involved in projects that are both technically interesting and genuinely rewarding to see through different stages.
You'll be involved across PLC and HMI programming, SCADA systems, control system upgrades, testing and commissioning, while working closely with electrical engineers, project teams and other specialists to help deliver projects from design through to completion.You'll also have the opportunity to play a key role within the wider team, sharing your knowledge and mentoring engineers around you while working alongside people with different areas of expertise.
As you become more involved in the projects and wider business, there's scope to take on greater ownership and broaden your experience across electrical engineering and project management, giving you the chance to influence projects beyond the controls package itself.The exciting part is that you won't necessarily know exactly where the role can take you from day one.

there is plenty of scope to build upon your technical knowledge as well as gain valuable skills in other areas.Key responsibilities include:Delivering on project requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, technical specifications, safety, regulatory, and environmental standardsReviewing concepts and design outputs to ensure compliance with project requirements, product functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectivenessDemonstrating a solid willingness to improve on the knowledge of the Business Unit frameworks and ensure own compliance with project practices and standardsDemonstrate the ability in resolving technical issues, conducting investigations into and report fault findingShow a strong understanding or knowledge of electrical engineering capabilities/responsibilities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics engineering or equivalentConstruction Industry White CardLow-Voltage experienceRPEQ (or on the pathway) is advantageousCompetitive Salary PackageExposure to Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell, Citect, Ignition, WinCC, or similar, with training or guidance provided if neededA great opportunity that will entail a lot of growth and learning opportunitiesPotential assistance with attaining specific qualificationsUse of a company car for site travel.Please note:My client has indicated they are not able to sponsor for this role; therefore, you must be a resident in Australia and have full working rights in Australia for this role.
