Geo-Con Products is seeking an experienced, Workshop Foreman / Production to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of its Geebung workshop.
Leading a small team of four, you'll coordinate production, schedule jobs, manage materials and purchasing, and remain hands-on in the workshop.
Strong experience operating manual lathes, mills and other conventional machinery will be essential.
The workshop manufactures, modifies, services and repairs specialised construction materials testing equipment.
The work is varied and ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving and different projects rather than repetitive production.
About the role
Lead and coordinate a small workshop teamSchedule and prioritise productionAllocate work and monitor job progressOperate manual lathes, mills and workshop machineryOversee fitting, fabrication, machining and mechanical assemblyAssist with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsRead and interpret engineering drawingsTroubleshoot mechanical and equipment issuesManage purchasing, materials, tools and consumablesLiaise with management regarding production requirements and prioritiesMaintain a safe, organised workshop and high standard of workmanshipRemain hands‐on and assist the team as required
About you
You will be a trade-qualified Fitter & Turner with strong manual machining skills and experience working with conventional lathes and mills.
You will also bring:
Extensive mechanical and workshop experienceExperience supervising,



leading or coordinating a small teamStrong production scheduling and organisational skillsThe ability to read and interpret engineering drawingsHydraulic and/or pneumatic experienceStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsA practical, hands‐on approachHigh standards of quality and workmanship
Experience with Microsoft Office and MYOB would be advantageous.
You don't necessarily need to have held a Workshop Foreman or Production Manager title.
