Leading a team of four, this is a broad senior tax role with significant exposure across the organisation.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders on major contracts, transactions and business decisions, while continuing to strengthen ASC's tax governance and risk management framework.

employee wellbeing and professional development.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage taxation compliance activities across Australia and the foreign jurisdictions in which ASC operatesProvide timely and practical tax advice on corporate transactions, functions, policies and complianceReview major contracts, significant transactions and business decisions for tax implications and riskOversee and continue to strengthen ASC's Tax Risk Management and Governance FrameworkManage relationships with the Australian Taxation Office, overseas tax authorities, external tax advisors and external auditorsPartner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Commercial and the broader organisation to support commercial decision makingBuild tax knowledge and awareness across the organisation, helping stakeholders understand the tax implications of their activitiesProvide taxation reporting and updates to senior management and input into Board papers where requiredSupport the financial accounting team on tax matters and tax payment forecastingLead, support and develop a team of four direct reportsCandidate ProfileYou will likely be an experienced corporate tax professional who is comfortable operating across both technical and commercial matters.
You may have developed your career within a large corporate environment, professional services, or a combination of both.
You don't necessarily need to have worked in an organisation exactly like ASC.
More important will be your ability to navigate complexity, provide sound and pragmatic tax advice, and build credibility with stakeholders across the business.Ideally, your experience will include a combination of:Strong corporate tax experience and a sound understanding of Australian taxation lawExposure to areas such as income tax, GST, FBT and employment taxe, sInternational tax exposure, which may include permanent establishments, transfer pricing or expatriate taxationTax governance, risk management and internal controlsAdvising on contracts, transactions or commercial decisionsWorking with senior stakeholders and translating complex tax matters into clear, practical adviceManaging relationships with Revenue Offices, external tax advisors or auditorsExposure to complex, project or contract-based environmentsERP systems and/or tax technologyLeading, coaching or developing othersTertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting and relevant professional membership will be important for the role.Membership of the Tax Institute would also be highly regarded.Advantages & CultureASC has an industry-leading benefits and wellness offering, including hybrid working, flexible arrangements, family support and a strong focus on professional development and employee wellbeing.This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
