The OpportunityEligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Australian Government Defence security clearance at the level required for the position.The primary responsibility of the Accounting Assistant will be to support in the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit cards transactions across multiple business units.Other key tasks include assisting in processes and controls to ensure the timely submission of customer invoices and cash collection, assist the provision of supporting documents to customer invoices and compile and analyse billings and collection data metrics.This is an entry-level role is perfect for someone looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting while developing essential accounts payable skills.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of Accounts Payable vouchersAssist the issue and cancellation of corporate credit cardsVerifying the accuracy of credit card transaction reports completed by cardholdersProviding support in responding to queries from internal customers in respect of payables and receivablesProviding support in responding to queries from auditors and internal stakeholdersParticipating in month-end close activitiesProvide back up support to the Accounts Team leader and team requiredAssist the Accounts team leader in the preparation and maintenance of process documentation and user guidesContinually seek and implement improvements in processes and accounting tools that reduce cycle time, improve productivity and reduce overall costWhat You'll BringIdeally 1-2 years experience in a similar role with good understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principlesHands-on experience raising transactions within accounting/ERP systemsExcel skills to an intermediate levelStrong analytical skills to problem solve and improve processesHigh attention to detailHighly organized and ability to meet tight deadlinesClear and confident communicatorStrong customer focusResourceful,
