Operate, manage, maintain, and repair critical and non-critical power systems, HVAC, BMS, plumbing, fire control and suppression, and site servicesPerform regularly scheduled maintenance and ad hoc repairs/troubleshootingComplete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance protocols, plans, activities, and site checksManage and oversee specialist vendors for major works, planned repairs and maintenance, electrical, and special systemsMaintain spare parts availability and critical spares registerMonitor and respond to BMS alarms, escalating to Controls Engineering when requiredParticipate in an on-call roster as first responder for site incidents outside regular working hoursOversee plumbing, security, and fire suppression vendor activitiesCoordinate vendor work to ensure maintenance meets Equinix requirementsPerform commissioning and project work of varying scale and scopeEdit and track service-provider work approval processesRecommend updates to technical files and ensure as-built documentation is currentCreate engineering scripts and undertake protected switching practiceEnsure Equinix safety and maintenance quality procedures are followed, including Incident ManagementReview processes, procedures,
and systems; communicate deviations and proposed changesDevelop and support training for IBX employeesProvide guidance and mentoring to team membersRequirementsUnderstanding through practical experience of critical facility operations and equipmentTrade qualification or Degree CertifiedSound knowledge or understanding of Controls would be a bonusProficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systemsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive situationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsProven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectivelyCapability to execute tasks through effort and collaboration without formal written processCollaborative mindset and ability to complete assigned tasks autonomously when requiredCore CompetenciesDemonstrates expertise in managing and maintaining critical facility operations, including HVAC, BMS, plumbing, and fire control systems.
