POSITION OVERVIEW
We areseeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join the Navarra team in a full-timepermanent role based at our Head Office in Rozelle, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. Working hours are 9 am - 5 PM, from Navarra head office in Rozelle, onsite parking available.
In thisrole, you will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for approximately70 full time staff, along with 100–300 casual employees during peak periods.
A keyfocus of the position will be driving payroll system improvements. You willreview current processes and system configurations, identify areas forimprovement, and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency, accuracy, andcompliance.
You willalso play an important role in ensuring managers and staff remain accountablefor roster management and timely timesheet approvals.
The idealcandidate will have previously experience in the hospitality industry, and havean understanding of the restraint award.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
- Process accurate and timelyweekly payroll for approximately 70 permanent employees and 100–300 casualemployees during peak periods.
- Ensure all payroll activitiesare completed in accordance with relevant Awards, Fair Work legislation,taxation requirements and company policies.
- Follow up Venue Managers eachweek to ensure timesheets and rosters are completed and approved withinrequired deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with Venue Managers to improve payroll accuracy, roster compliance and timekeepingpractices.
- Partner with the HR Manager toimprove payroll systems, processes and workflows, ensuring a seamless employeeexperience.
- Identify opportunities toenhance and optimise Employment Hero, making recommendations to improveautomation, reporting and system efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvementinitiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline payroll operations andreduce manual processes.
- Partner with HR to identify andaddress non-compliance with business processes, including roster management,attendance and payroll procedures.
- Maintain accurate employeepayroll records and respond to payroll-related enquiries in a professional andtimely manner.
- Reconcile payroll reports andensure the integrity and accuracy of payroll data.
- Assist with payroll audits,year-end reporting, Single Touch Payroll (STP) requirements and statutoryreporting obligations.
- Prepare monthly payrollreporting, including leave liability, wages analysis, overtime, labour costsand other key workforce metrics.
- Partner with the Chief Financial Officer and HR Manager to provide payroll insights and reporting that supportinformed business decisions.
- Build strong workingrelationships across Finance, HR and Operations to ensure payroll supports thewider business objectives.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Expert-level experience using Employment Hero
- A minimum of 5 years’ experienceworking with Employment Hero payroll systems
- Strong payroll processing andsystems improvement experience
- Excellent attention to detailand organisational skills
- The ability to workcollaboratively with managers and stakeholders
- Must have valid work rights,visa sponsorship not available.
