What you'll be doing
To accurately translate the type and acuity of patient services by the accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes of care.

About You
You are a detail-oriented and highly skilled Clinical Coder with recognised qualifications aligned to the HIMAA Clinical Coder National Competency Standards, supported by strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and health information management principles. With experience applying the Australian Coding Standards and the International Classification of Diseases Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), you are committed to producing accurate, timely, and high-quality coding outcomes that support clinical data integrity and healthcare funding requirements.

Your strong understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and Activity Based Funding enables you to appreciate the critical role clinical coding plays in healthcare performance, service planning, and patient outcomes. You are experienced in reviewing complex clinical documentation, interpreting health records, and assigning accurate codes while consistently maintaining productivity and quality standards.

You are proficient in the use of Patient Administration Systems, including Cerner and iPM,



as well as 3M Codefinder and other coding resources, enabling you to work efficiently within fast-paced healthcare environments. Your analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities allow you to confidently investigate coding queries, interpret clinical information, and collaborate effectively with clinicians to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy.

Organised, self-motivated, and quality focused, you excel at managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and working both autonomously and as part of a team. Your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build positive professional relationships across multidisciplinary healthcare settings, contributing to continuous improvement and the delivery of accurate, meaningful clinical information.
