Curriculum Leader – Religious Education

Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.

The College has an opportunity for an experienced and suitably qualified leader to head the Religious Education faculty. Having oversight for the Religious Education Program from Years 5 – 12, you will be engaged to lead this key faculty and empowered to design and deliver engaging, flexible and rigorous learning experiences that challenge and inspire our boys.

This is a Tier 5 position with a currently annual salary of $148,360.

All successful candidates who accept a Middle Leadership Position at Marist College Ashgrove will hold an incumbent teaching role together with the Middle Leader role. The Curriculum Leader – Humanities is appointed for a period of 4 years renewable for a further 4 years on the completion of a successful performance review.

- Understanding of contemporary learning theory and practice, with an ability to ensure this is evident in the teaching within the school

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria

- Formal teaching qualifications and extensive teaching experience across all Religious Education subjects and post-graduate study qualifications in theology, religious education, and/or Catholic school leadership.
- Experience as an effective leader of staff, with demonstrated commitment to the team and to building relationships;
- Experience in providing professional development and assistance to staff in the teaching and instruction of Religious Education;
- The ability to lead and quality assure the development of a Religious Education Curriculum in line with the guidelines as provided by the Archdiocese of Brisbane.
- Current registration to teach in Queensland
