Lead advanced cardiac nursing practice, shape innovative models of care and support patients with complex cardiovascular conditions across the Murrumbidgee.
An exciting opportunity exists for an Endorsed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Transitional Nurse Practitioner (TNP) to join the MLHD Cardiology Service, with a specialist focus on Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiology.
This is an advanced clinical leadership role supporting adults with complex cardiac rhythm disorders and cardiovascular disease requiring specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing follow-up.
About the Opportunity
You will work across inpatient, outpatient and clinic settings, supporting patients throughout their cardiac journey, including:
- Electrophysiology (EP) studies and catheter ablation
- Cardiac implantable electronic device procedures
- Coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention
- Advanced cardiac assessment, management and follow-up
- Care coordination across hospital, community and specialist services
- Patient and carer education and self-management support
- Specialist advice and clinical support to healthcare professionals across the region.
- As an NP/TNP, you will provide advanced clinical assessment, autonomous practice, care coordination and evidence-based management, while working closely with cardiologists, cardiac technologists, pharmacists, nursing staff, GPs and other health professionals.
- The role provides an prospect to use digital health technologies and contemporary models of care to improve access to specialist cardiac services for patients across a large rural and regional footprint.

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Current authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse / Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with equivalent of three years Fulltime experience in an advanced nursing role within a rural care environment.
- Authority to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or demonstrated evidence of eligibility to obtain authorisation within 2 years. If working towards your qualification, you will be paid at CNC level 2 wage, till qualifications finished.
- An ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team and across acute and community settings.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with proven interpersonal and negotiation skills, inclusive of highly developed skills in computer literacy with word processing and database programs.
- An ability to provide leadership along with extensive expertise in teaching and education and evidence of participation in research and quality activities.
- Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances within the MLHD.
