About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Process Discipline Engineer to join our clients team on a 12-month initial assignment, with the possibility of extension. Based in Perth, this role will provide technical oversight of process design for a large-scale copper concentrator project, working closely with engineering contractors, OEMs and project stakeholders.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring process designs meet project requirements, while supporting design reviews, technical risk management, HAZOPs and operational readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the process design development of the process plant.
- Provide technical oversight of metallurgy, water balance, reagent systems and process assumptions.
- Coordinate process design activities and interfaces across multiple engineering contractors.
- Review and approve key process deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs;, mass balances and design criteria.
- Ensure process designs comply with project requirements, design criteria and relevant standards.
- Identify and manage technical risks, process gaps and interface issues.
- Coordinate technical reviews with contractors, OEMs and the Winu project team.
- Review and respond to Technical Queries (TQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs,
constructability workshops and operational readiness reviews
Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years experience in process engineering, with significant experience in large-scale minerals processing and mining projects.
- Essential experience in copper concentrator projects, with strong understanding of concentrator processes and plant design.
- Metallurgical engineering background is highly desirable.
- Experience working with EPC/EPCM contractors, particularly Chinese EPC contractors, is advantageous.
- Strong experience developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs;, mass balances, process design criteria and control philosophies.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical oversight across metallurgy, water balance, reagent systems and process plant design.
- Experience coordinating engineering interfaces and technical deliverables across multiple contractors, OEMs and project teams.
- Strong understanding of process plant operability, maintainability, HAZOPs and design review processes.
