We are currently seeking applications for a Principal Advisor to join Advisory Services, South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA) at the Department of Treasury & Finance (DTF) on an ongoing basis.
Remuneration: ASO8 – Salary Range ($130,046 – $134,956 p.a.).
About the opportunity
The Principal Advisor is responsible for various tasks including advising Government on the design and delivery of new and existing industry assistance programs, providing leadership and support to the Advisory Services team in undertaking financial due diligence of applicants for assistance, and managing a portfolio of grants and loans.
The Principal Advisor will be responsible for direct line management of up to two full-time equivalent employees and will report to the Manager, Advisory Services.
About you
To be successful you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce, economics or other relevant commercial qualification.
- Proven ability to analyse and conceptualise problems, formulate and execute appropriate solutions and achieve successful outcomes in an innovative and resourceful manner.
- Proven high-level and effective communication skills with stakeholders at all levels, across the private and/or public sectors.
- Established ability to develop, interpret, review and implement important policy instructions and provide advice on critical and complex issues to achieve successful outcomes.
- Highly developed and demonstrated experience in undertaking financial due diligence assessments.
- Established ability to negotiate with key stakeholders and advocate on behalf of the SAFA.
- Proven organisational management skills,
including the ability to exercise sound judgement and initiative in prioritising and establishing tasks within the team.
- Demonstrated capacity to operate under tight deadlines with a significant degree of autonomy.
- Proven ability to prepare reports and briefings to various audiences including Ministers, CEOs and Senior Executives.
- Proven experience in the use of spreadsheets and information systems to report and manage data.
- High level of integrity and sense of responsibility.
- Proven ability to work with a high degree of initiative and motivation including providing management support to staff.
- Capacity to exercise a high level of independent judgement and original thinking.
