About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and adaptable Female Support Worker to support a woman in her 30s living in the Thornlie area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support someone with complex needs who enjoys genuine connection, a good laugh, and having people around her who are calm, creative, and willing to think outside the box. No two days are the same, and the right person will bring a positive attitude, emotional intelligence, and a willingness to learn.
Your Role Will Include
- Providing in-home support, including assistance with daily living tasks
- Shopping, meal preparation, cooking, and household duties
- Supporting emotional regulation and co-regulation strategies
- Encouraging participation in meaningful activities and community access
- Following individual support plans and clinical guidelines
- Maintaining accurate records and communication with the wider support team
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Is calm, patient, and able to remain level-headed in challenging situations
- Can work independently while also contributing positively to a team
- Has a great sense of humour and enjoys building genuine connections
- Is creative, flexible, and proactive in their approach
- Can create moments of fun, laughter, and positive engagement
- Builds respectful relationships with the participant, family members, and support networks
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and strong boundaries
- Is willing to learn and adapt to meet the participant's individual needs
Availability
- Morning and evening shifts available
- Successful applicants will complete buddy shifts and training before working independently
- Availability to assist with leave cover and additional shifts is highly desirable
- Additional opportunities may be available during school holidays and staff leave periods
- Three-month casual probation period with the potential to transition to permanent part-time employment
Essential Requirements
- Current WA Driver's Licence (essential)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Employment Medical Assessment
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Rights to work in Australia
Experience in disability, aged care, community services, mental health, youth work, education, or related fields is highly regarded but not essential. Full training and buddy shifts will be provided to the successful applicant.
