About the role

Coral Beach Lodge is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to join our team in Port Douglas, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences to our guests. As Bar Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our bar operations, ensuring high standards of service, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This position is central to maintaining the quality and reputation of our establishment and directly contributes to the overall success of Coral Beach Lodge.

Key responsibilities

- Managing daily bar operations, including stock control, inventory management, and ordering of beverages and supplies

- Supervising and training bar staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service and adherence to hospitality standards

- Creating and updating bar menus, developing signature cocktails, and recommending beverage offerings based on guest preferences and seasonal trends

- Ensuring compliance with all licensing regulations, responsible service of alcohol (RSA) requirements, and health and safety standards

- Managing bar finances, including cash handling, point-of-sale systems, revenue tracking, and cost control to maximise profitability

- Maintaining health and hygiene standards within the bar area and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for guests

- Building positive relationships with guests, handling inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly

- Liaising with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and integrated guest experiences

- Monitoring beverage costs and identifying opportunities for waste reduction and efficiency improvements





- Scheduling staff shifts and managing staffing requirements to meet operational demands

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Bar Manager or in a senior bar/hospitality leadership role within a similar establishment

- In-depth knowledge of beverages, including spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail preparation techniques

- Strong understanding of hospitality service standards and the ability to maintain them consistently

- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

- Proficiency with bar management systems, point-of-sale software, and inventory management tools

- Sound financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management

- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or willingness to obtain certification

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests and staff

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required

- Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced environment

- Preferred: Experience in a resort, hotel, or premium hospitality venue in a tropical destination
