We are working with our global client who has been operating for over 20 years, specifically in Australia for the last 6 years. This client develops and delivers complete automation solutions with a focus on process optimization, minimizing waste, energy consumption, and carbon footprints. Their designs emphasize user-friendliness, operational reliability, and the optimal use of Industry 4.0 technologies. They offer internal training programs and are a global partner for quality solutions that ensure optimal performance of their customer's process systems.

Job Summary
Due to continual success and growth of the business, they are now seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain industrial automation systems.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, with hands-on experience in platforms such as Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, AVEVA (Wonderware), Ignition, Citect, and iFix.

The ideal candidate should also possess process knowledge in the dairy, food and beverage industry.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance automation solutions while ensuring system reliability and operational efficiency.

This role requires significant travel to customer sites across Victoria for commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems across multiple platforms, including Rockwell, Siemens, AVEVA, Ignition, Citect, and iFix.
- Program, test,



and troubleshoot PLC logic and HMI/SCADA interfaces to meet project specifications and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Configure and optimize industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, OPC-UA).
- Perform system diagnostics, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, functional descriptions, and user manuals.
- Provide technical support and training for maintenance personnel and end-users.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in commissioning, testing, and site support activities for new and existing automation projects.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in either Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI programming and development.
- Proficiency in at least two or more of the following platforms:
- Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley, RSLogix, FactoryTalk)




- Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC)
- AVEVA (Wonderware System Platform, InTouch)
- Inductive Automation (Ignition)
- Schneider Electric (Citect SCADA)
- GE (iFix)
- Strong understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, OPC-UA).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs;.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA, or JavaScript) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel for onsite support and commissioning (as required).

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of virtualized environments, edge computing, and IIoT platforms.
- Experience with MES integration and database systems (SQL, Historian).
- Familiarity with safety systems (SIL, Safety PLCs) and cybersecurity best practices.
- Certifications in Rockwell, Siemens, or AVEVA automation platforms are a plus.
