The role

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our production operations at our Crestmead site.

Crestmead is a busy, high-performing site experiencing strong growth, with further expansion ahead. This is an opportunity for a practical and visible leader who is comfortable working on the floor, supporting frontline leaders and getting the best from a blue-collar workforce.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead production across a multi-shift operation, with responsibility for safety, quality, people, cost and delivery. Your focus will be on ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently while building an engaged, capable and accountable team.

Key responsibilities

- Lead by example and maintain a strong focus on Zero Harm and safe operations.
- Manage daily production to achieve safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership across the factory floor.
- Coach and develop Shift Supervisors and production team members.
- Plan labour and allocate resources to meet changing production requirements.
- Monitor production performance and respond quickly to operational issues.
- Manage labour costs and production overheads within budget.
- Build workforce capability through training, cross-skilling and performance conversations.
- Drive practical continuous improvement across safety, quality and productivity.
- Support employee and industrial relations matters, including working constructively with employee and union representatives.

About you





You will be an experienced manufacturing or operations leader who knows how to lead people in a busy, hands-on workplace.

You will bring:

- Strong leadership experience within manufacturing, production or a similar blue-collar environment.
- Experience leading teams across shift-based operations.
- A visible, practical and approachable leadership style.
- A strong safety mindset and the confidence to address issues early.
- The ability to build accountability while maintaining positive team relationships.
- Experience coaching frontline leaders and developing team capability.
- A good understanding of production targets, labour planning and operating costs.
- The resilience to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operation.
- Experience working with enterprise agreements, unions or employee representatives.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.

A qualification in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain or a related discipline would be beneficial, but relevant hands-on leadership experience will be equally valued.
