Mernda Hills Christian College is seeking two experienced and passionate educational leaders to join our Secondary leadership team in the positions of Learning & Teaching Coordinator, and Secondary VCE Coordinator. Both roles commence in January 2027.

Each of these exciting roles can be combined with a teaching load to be full time, performing teaching and leadership responsibilities across curriculum, teaching excellence, student wellbeing, behaviour support, and school operations.

- Learning & Teaching Coordinator - 0.4 FTE
- Secondary VCE Coordinator - 0.2 FTE

Learning & Teaching Coordinator

- Holds a crucial leadership position responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating curriculum programs across Years 7-12 in line with College, ASV and government guidelines.
- Leading the skilled learning culture of the Secondary School, developing data-driven annual curriculum plans, ensuring VRQA minimum standards are met, and supporting teachers to ensure their classroom practice is consistent and of a high quality, and that students are supported and challenged to achieve their best.

VCE Coordinator

- Oversee and coordinate the VCE and VSV programs for Years 10-12, ensuring compliance with VCAA requirements. This includes overseeing the administration of SACs, the GAT, final examinations, and required VCE data management on VASS.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to VCE/VSV students throughout their senior secondary education journey.




- Coordinate VCE information sessions, parent information evenings, assemblies, and student pathway guidance.
- Maintain VCE documentation, update the College VCE Handbook, and implement curriculum and assessment changes.
- Oversee VSV enrolments, monitor student progress, and maintain ongoing communication with Virtual School Victoria.Lead collaboration, staff briefings, skilled learning, and communication initiatives to support effective delivery of VCE and VSV programs.

About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

Knowledge and Experience

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education.
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Teaching experience of 8+ years is preferred, preferably with some experience in Adventist Education.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a school setting.
- Strong understanding of effective teaching, learning and curriculum practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and families.
- Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
- Experience in curriculum leadership and professional learning.
- Experience using student data to inform improvement strategies.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring teachers.

Skills and Abilities

- Must be a baptised and practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist church, or an active adherent of another Christian denomination, highly supportive of the school's vision, mission and values.

- Leadership qualities with an evidence-based approach

- Highly effective personal relations skills, with strong oral and written communication skills.

- Experience and proven record in effective learning and teaching skills, including management of challenging student behaviours.

- Self-motivated,



demonstrating the ability to inspire others and to deliver and accept feedback with respect to the effectiveness of endeavours and the achievement of goals.

- Highly effective organisational skills.
