Our Client:

Our client is one of Northern Australia's most established suppliers to the building, construction and trade industries. With a strong footprint across the region and a reputation built on longstanding customer relationships, they have earned their place as a trusted partner to businesses large and small. Today, they are focused on the future, investing in their people, strengthening customer partnerships and continuing to grow in an increasingly competitive market.

The Opportunity:

Based in Cairns and reporting directly to the General Manager, this senior leadership role will take responsibility for the sales function across the Northern Division.

You will set the sales direction, strengthen key customer relationships and support your team to achieve sustainable revenue, margin and market share growth. This is a visible and hands-on role requiring someone who is equally comfortable working through strategy and performance data as they are spending time with customers, supporting their team and identifying new commercial opportunities.

- Improve the consistency and effectiveness of sales, estimating, quoting and customer follow-up.

- Work closely with the General Manager, Senior Leadership Team and operational areas of the business.

Your Skills & Experience:

We are looking for a commercially capable sales leader who knows how to connect with people and bring others with them.
You may already be leading a sales team within building supplies, construction, manufacturing, hardware or an industrial environment. Alternatively, you may bring strong transferable experience from another sector where customer relationships, team leadership and commercial performance have been central to your success.

Most importantly, you will bring:

- Proven experience leading and developing a successful sales team.
- Strong commercial acumen across revenue, margin, pricing and growth.
- A genuine ability to build trusted, long-term customer relationships.
- Confidence communicating with people at all levels.
- A practical leadership style that creates clarity, accountability and engagement.
- The ability to influence outcomes and bring people together.
- Sound judgement, resilience and a solutions-focused approach.
- A leadership style aligned with strong values and personal responsibility.

This role will suit someone personable, energetic and commercially sharp. You will be visible in the business, comfortable representing the organisation across the wider industry and able to build credibility with established customers, new customers and team members alike.

The Offer:

This is a significant Cairns-based leadership opportunity offering genuine influence across sales strategy, customer engagement, team development and future growth.

You will join an established organisation with a robust market presence, an experienced leadership team and the backing of a broader national group.
