KLM Hire is looking for a reliable, safety-focused Truck Driver to join our team and assist with the delivery and collection of plant and equipment throughout Melbourne and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on role where you will be dealing directly with our customers and working closely with our Rental and Yard teams.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering and collecting earthmoving and plant equipment to and from customer sites
- Driving our current 4-tonne truck and trailer combination
- Loading, securing and unloading equipment safely
- Using a forklift for loading and unloading equipment
- Completing pre-start checks on the truck and trailer
- Ensuring all loads are correctly restrained and compliant with load-restraint requirements
- Checking equipment at delivery and collection
- Communicating professionally with customers and site personnel
- Working closely with our Rental team to ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time
- Keeping the truck, trailer and associated equipment clean and well maintained
About you
- Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence or higher
- Current Forklift Licence – essential
- A good driving record
- Good knowledge of Melbourne and surrounding areas
- A strong commitment to safe driving and load restraint
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A reliable and punctual approach to work
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A reasonable level of physical fitness for this hands-on role
