Lead a High-Performing Team and Deliver Better Outcomes for NSW
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated leader to join NSW Fair Trading as Team Leader, Registries. You will lead a customer-focused team delivering registry, regulatory and administrative services in a multifaceted environment that administers legislation for a significant part of the NSW not-for-profit sector.
You will provide leadership, guidance and operational oversight while ensuring the team meets customer service, regulatory and operational standards. You will manage complex and sensitive matters, provide specialist advice on legislative and regulatory requirements, and support consistent, fair and effective regulatory outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to influence outcomes, strengthen staff capability and improve business processes as Fair Trading's regulatory services continue to evolve across NSW.
About the Role
As Team Leader, Registries, you will:
- Lead and manage a team that handles complex and sensitive matters, fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Oversee work allocation, priorities and performance to achieve service standards and business objectives.
- Apply specialised knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures to resolve complex matters and support appropriate regulatory and customer outcomes.
- Coach and provide feedback to strengthen staff capability and performance.
- Monitor, analyse and report on workloads, trends and emerging issues to support informed decision-making.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of legislation, regulatory requirements and business processes.
- Review and improve processes to enhance service delivery,
customer experience and responsiveness to changing business needs.
- Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to broader business outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams in a regulatory, compliance, governance, investigations or similar service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with sound judgement and experience managing complex complaints and case matters.
- Clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a high-volume environment.
- Experience analysing operations and implementing practical service improvements.
- A strong commitment to customer service and NSW public sector values.
