Join a leading national investment management organisation, seeking a highly capable Payroll Coordinator/Senior Payroll Officer for a 15-Month Fixed-Term Contract. This role empowers you to take ownership of complex compliance mandates, optimize vendor relationships, and ensure accurate, timely processing for a dedicated workforce in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.
About the Role
- Drive the end-to-end processing, reconciliation, and oversight of fortnightly payroll for +350 staff, maintaining the data precision required to satisfy regulatory reporting.
- Actively partner with and manage our outsourced payroll vendor, maintaining rigorous momentum and ensuring the rapid resolution of complex payroll-related matters.
- Managing and administering all payroll aspects related to complex employee transitions and lifecycle changes.
- Applying expert knowledge to accurately calculate complex final entitlements and settlement figures, ensuring strict associated regulatory and tax compliance.
- Monitor and enforce stringent compliance with evolving legislative frameworks.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data integrity, streamline reconciliations, and ensure the organisation meets its stringent governance obligations.
- Demonstrating a willingness to assist with broader financial administration, and provide supplementary accounts payable support (occupying approximately 10% of the role).
About You
- Australian Citizen with the verified ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance (Mandatory).
- Experience operating as a Payroll Coordinator/Senior Payroll Officer within Financial Services, Superfunds, or the public sector.
- Deep, specialised knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, complex Award interpretation, and rigorous tax compliance.
- High proficiency in utilising enterprise systems such as Aurion or Workday, paired with advanced Excel capabilities for sophisticated data validation and variance analysis.
- A proactive, highly analytical mindset with the ability to identify compliance gaps, rectify systemic issues, and deliver faultless accuracy under competing deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
The Benefits
- Highly market-competitive salary of $125,000 to $130,000 + 12.5% superannuation.
