We’re partnering with one of Australia’s leading life insurers on a significant multi-year enterprise transformation.
Following years of growth and acquisitions, the organisation is modernising its core technology landscape, simplifying legacy platforms, defining a strategic target state and developing a long-term transformation roadmap across its life insurance policy and product estate.
This is a highly strategic Enterprise Architect opportunity requiring a combination of Enterprise Architecture capability and deep life insurance domain knowledge, particularly across policy administration, products and the policy lifecycle.
The Role
As an Enterprise Architect, you'll work closely with senior business and technology leaders to define future-state architecture, evaluate strategic options and guide the transformation of a complex life insurance environment.
This role requires someone who can operate across both the business and technology architecture, with a strong understanding of life insurance products, policy structures, policy administration and the broader policy lifecycle.
Rather than focusing on individual solution delivery, you'll provide architectural leadership across the transformation, helping determine how the existing policy and product landscape should evolve and how the organisation transitions from its current estate to the strategic target state.
You'll play a key role in defining transition roadmaps, assessing platform and business dependencies, supporting investment decisions and ensuring architectural alignment across multiple workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Define enterprise target-state architecture and multi-year transformation roadmaps.
- Assess the current life insurance policy, product, application and technology landscape.
- Develop architecture options, transition strategies and investment recommendations.
- Apply solid policy and product domain knowledge to strategic architecture decisions.
- Assess dependencies across policy administration, products, servicing, claims, data and associated capabilities.
- Work closely with executive and business stakeholders to align architecture with strategic objectives.
- Lead architecture governance, design reviews and decision-making forums.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate, simplify and rationalise legacy platforms and capabilities.
- Collaborate across business, architecture, engineering and delivery teams.
- Produce capability models, conceptual architectures, reference architectures, transition states and roadmap views.
About You
You'll be an experienced Enterprise Architect with strong life insurance policy and product experience.
We're particularly interested in architects who understand the business domain behind the technology, rather than having solely worked on peripheral systems, integrations or migrations within a life insurance setting.
You'll ideally bring experience across:
- Enterprise Architecture and strategic technology planning.
- Life insurance policy and product architecture.
- Policy administration and the end-to-end policy lifecycle.
- Life insurance products, policy structures and associated business capabilities.
- Core policy administration transformation and legacy platform rationalisation.
- Target-state architecture and multi-year transition planning.
- Architecture options, trade-off analysis and investment recommendations.
- Large-scale business and technology transformation.
- Executive stakeholder engagement and architecture governance.
Experience working across complex legacy life insurance estates, particularly environments involving multiple policy platforms, products or books of business, would be particularly relevant.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to influence a major life insurance transformation from an early stage, helping determine not simply how technology should change, but how the organisation's policy and product landscape should evolve over the coming years.
You'll work directly with senior architecture and business leadership to shape the target state and the roadmap for getting there.
