An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Training Manager to join our team at CET Joondalup. This role is responsible for the management of both the training team and delivery of training at CET Joondalup.

Your duties and responsibilities:

- Manage the scheduling and delivery of training at the CET Joondalup

- Implement required amendments to the training schedule in response to operational, financial and business requirements, and in accordance with direction provided by the College Manager.

- Work collaboratively with Administration to lead the development and implementation of the annual CET training schedule to ensure the schedule meets CET’s operational, financial and business requirements.

- Liaise with relevant staff to ensure that pending apprentices are placed into the appropriate intake as soon as practicable.

- Monitor and manage student’s “Not Yet Competent” status and ensure students are able to re-sit these units in a timely manner

- Program use of workshop and training rooms to ensure there are no class/resource clashes.

- Liaise with employers on training related matters or issues as required, keeping the College Manager informed of significant concerns and escalating complaints or issues where required.

- Work collaboratively with Training Managers across all CET sites to ensure all units of competency, including EL39 (Capstone), is delivered consistently and in accordance with relevant CET Policies, regulatory requirements and compliance obligations across all CET campuses.

- Manage and monitor the performance and workload of all members of the training team.

- Identify areas for professional development/upskilling for all members of the training team

- Manage training team grievances, counselling and disciplinary actions, and performance issues.

- Manage the annual Performance and Development review process for all members of the training team

- Ensure all Trainer and Assessors maintain the required compliance standards against the RTO Compliance Tool.

- Approval of Capstone Checks





- Ensure all Units of Competence are resulted as per CET policies and procedures

- Recognition of Prior Learning, Skills Recognition, Recognition of current competency and mutual recognition services to students.

- Student Log Books

- Ensure all end of month resulting is completed by the training team.

- Ensure compliance with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) and the Standards for RTOs 2025

- Work with and provide advice to the Training Development Manager in the development of training resources

- Attend to and resolve enquiries from students and employers.

- Assist with the resolution of escalated student grievances and issues.

- Ensure students comply with CET rules, policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed:

Essential:

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or latest equivalent qualification,

- WA Electrical licence

- Demonstrated experience in liaising with industry

- An understanding of the vocational education sector and the application of Training Packages

- Detailed knowledge of the assessment requirements contained in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2025

- An understanding of the Electrical Licencing requirements

- Strong IT skills including experience using a range of software applications

- A commitment to personal and staff development

- Proven ability to build a positive workplace culture

- Well-developed organisational skills

- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage staff

- The ability to resolve problems

Desirable:

- Formal Management qualification or suitable experience

- Diploma Vocational Education and Training

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Electrotechnology field
