SSP Australia is looking for passionate and reliable Chefs to join our growing culinary team at Canberra Airport.

With both full-time and part-time permanent positions available, this is a great opportunity for experienced chefs looking for stable employment, consistent hours, career development and the chance to work across a diverse hospitality operation.

You’ll work alongside an experienced Head Chef and supportive culinary team, preparing quality food across a range of busy airport venues, including cafés, bars and Asian-inspired food concepts.

Whether your background is in café breakfast service, all-day dining, high-volume kitchens or Asian wok cooking, we would love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our kitchen team, you will:

- Prepare and cook high-quality food across a diverse menu offering.

- Maintain strong standards of presentation, portion control and consistency.

- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams during busy service periods.

- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

- Assist with stock rotation, food preparation and waste control.

- Support junior and developing kitchen team members.

- Contribute ideas and help us continuously improve our food offering.

- Work in a fast-paced environment serving travellers from across Australia and around the world.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for chefs who enjoy being part of a team, take pride in their food and want to work in a professional and supportive kitchen environment.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience working as a Chef or experienced Cook.

- A relevant Commercial Cookery qualification.

- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

- Good communication and time-management skills.

- The ability to stay organised during busy service periods.

- A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude.

- A genuine interest in food and continued development.

- Experience in café breakfast service, all-day dining or Asian wok cooking will be highly regarded.

- A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is desirable, although support may be available for the right candidate to obtain this.
