Flexible working arrangements are available for this 0.6 FTE position. We can accommodate a range of working patterns, including three full days per week or hours spread across four or five shorter days, to support individual needs and circumstances.
About the Role
Swinburne Research is seeking a Research Ethics Compliance Officer to join the team and provide effective research administration, support, and committee secretary support to the various research ethics committees of the University. In this role, you will provide advice and assistance to committee members, academic staff and research students on committee processes, protocols and ethical issues relating to their research.
Working collaboratively across the University, you will also contribute to researcher training, resource development, research ethics auditing and compliance, and continuous improvements that strengthen Swinburne’s ethical research culture. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-focused professional who enjoys building relationships and improving processes.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Well-developed written communication skills, with the ability to synthesise and present information and advice in a transparent and consistent manner.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with a wide variety of people, to identify needs and to impart knowledge in a professional manner.
- Advanced skills with standard office communication tools to produce documentation to a high standard in a variety of formats.
- Expertise in use of online content management and workflow systems and proficiency in generating reports from these systems.
- Demonstrated ability to recognise and implement continuous improvement of services.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/ or education and training. (Essential)
- A postgraduate degree with a substantial research component and/ or additional training and qualifications in ethics or integrity. (Preferable)
