As our business continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced and people-focused HR & Payroll Advisor to join our Support Office team.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working closely with people and providing trusted HR support across the business. You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while serving as a key advisor to managers and employees on a range of people-related matters.
This is a hands-on role that blends payroll management with HR advisory responsibilities, allowing you to make a meaningful impact across both people and business outcomes. You'll play a critical role in helping us maintain a compliant, efficient and employee-focused people function while contributing to the continued growth of our venue portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing across multiple venues and support office teams.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with Modern Awards, employment agreements, Fair Work requirements and company policies.
- Review and validate timesheets, roster data, leave requests, allowances, penalties and overtime calculations.
- Manage payroll onboarding, employee changes, salary adjustments and termination processing.
- Prepare payroll reporting, reconciliations and compliance documentation.
- Utilise Tanda Payroll and workforce management systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide practical HR advice and support to managers across employee relations, performance management and workplace matters.
- Prepare employment contracts, variation letters and employment-related documentation.
- Coordinate onboarding, probation reviews, employee movements and offboarding activities.
- Support workplace investigations, employee concerns and policy interpretation.
- Assist with employee engagement, recognition and wellbeing initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement across payroll, HR processes and systems.
About You
You're highly organised, detail-oriented and take pride in getting things right the first time. You enjoy balancing technical payroll expertise with building strong relationships across the business and providing practical advice to leaders.
You'll also bring:
- Previous experience in a Payroll Advisor, HR & Payroll Coordinator,
Payroll Specialist or similar role.
- Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience within a multi-site environment.
- Sound understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards and employment compliance.
- Experience providing HR advice and support to managers and employees.
- Exposure to employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations.
- Ideal experience using Tanda Payroll.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work autonomously.
