As a Financial Accountant – Group Reporting, you will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of high-quality financial reporting across the group.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, with the potential to become permanent for a strong candidate.
Working within a collaborative Finance team, the role will have a particular focus on group consolidation, financial statements, disclosures and reporting governance, while partnering closely with Finance, Actuarial and other business teams.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the preparation of Group financial statements and associated disclosures
- Assisting with the Australian group consolidation, coordinating inputs across multiple teams and entities
- Ensuring Group reporting is completed accurately, to a high standard and within required timeframes
- Completing financial analysis and preparing commentary on results
- Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of consolidation, financial reporting processes and controls
- Coordinating financial reporting governance activities and key reporting deliverables
- Working closely with Finance and Actuarial stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are delivered on time
- Supporting broader transformation, process improvement and reporting initiatives
- Managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities across the reporting cycle

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong experience in group consolidation and financial reporting
- Experience preparing and/or auditing financial statements and associated disclosures
- An appropriate accounting qualification, ideally CA or CPA
- Life Insurance experience would be highly regarded, although candidates from other Financial Services environments will also be considered
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting requirements
- Experience working across complex group structures and coordinating financial inputs from multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple deliverables and competing deadlines
- A proactive, collaborative and outcomes-focused approach
