About us:

Agile Mining Services is a privately owned company, based in Adelaide, providing specialist technical, mining, and mineral processing services to the South Australian iron ore industry. Our operations located near Coober Pedy currently mine and export 3Mtpa+ high grade Iron ore.

About the opportunity:

Agile Mining is seeking a passionate, outstanding Safety Lead based at our Adelaide office to provide advice, practical expertise, and solutions to site-based employees and contractors on all safety matters. This exciting role will be an key member of the Safety and Compliance Team and reports to the Operations Manager.

This role requires a collaborative style, working closely with our people, project leaders & clients to uphold standards and expectations across multiple work fronts. The successful candidate will be proactive in mentoring the workforce and leaders, leading incident and event investigations, provide injury management support to drive operational excellence and seeking continuous improvement solutions.

The key responsibilities include:

- Attend site on a regular basis to ensure the AMS Services Safety Program is effectively implemented and mentor site Safety and Compliance team in the successful implementation of the HSE program.

- Provide expert technical safety advice and guidance to site management and operational teams on all HSE matters relating to Open Pit Iron Ore Mining.

- Ensure adherence to best practice HSE standards and WHS legislation across all work-related activities.

- Lead and support incident investigations using ICAM methodology, ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

- Proactively identify and manage HSE risks through hazard identification, risk assessment, and control verification processes.

- Demonstrate HSE leadership to positively influence safety culture, attitudes,



and behaviours across the site.

- Support the development and delivery of site safety improvement initiatives and strategic HSE programs.

- Assist in the development and maintenance of the site and corporate risk registers

- Provide end-to-end injury management support for all workplace injuries and illnesses, including early intervention, return-to-work coordination, and case management.

- Liaise with medical professionals, rehabilitation providers, insurers, and relevant regulatory bodies to facilitate timely and effective recovery outcomes.

- Develop and implement return-to-work plans in collaboration with workers, supervisors, and treating practitioners.

- Maintain accurate and confidential injury management records in compliance with legislative requirements.

- Manage site medical response resources to ensure readiness and appropriate response capability.

- Oversee Environmental compliance including EMP and PEPR compliance.

- Provide specialist technical direction, advice and support on Work HSE matters in both a Corporate Governance and operational setting.

- Support HSE business metrics.

- Champion and support hazard identification and risk management through facilitating and participating in risk assessments.

- Assist in the development and maintenance of the company and corporate risk registers.

- Participate in safety inspection processes.

- Be actively involved in the Agile Mining Contractor Management audit process.

- Support and undertake ad hoc projects, initiatives,



tasks as directed by the Operations Manager

Essential requirements:

To be successful in gaining this position, you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in WHS

- Cert IV TAE

- Experience working in Health and Safety in Mining or Construction.

- Qualifications and/or experience in WHS Auditing & Training.

- Proven experience in injury management, including return-to-work coordination and case management.

- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of work health and safety legislation

- Experience in Document Control

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and high level of computer literacy

- Understanding of safety aspects of mining and/or heavy industry

- Competent and experienced using safety, risk and compliance systems.

- Experienced in incident investigation, ICAM & 5 Why’s

Additional requirements:

The successful applicant will be required to:

- Hold a full driver’s license.

- Be Adelaide based and have regular site visits to remote sites and operations.
